Brand Vision

The concept for the FORA series of products originated from the process of photosynthesis found in plants. Natural and clean, it absorbs the energy of sunlight during daytime and converts it into electrical power at night, satisfying the various kinds of possible demands that might creep up on us in life. By storing warm sunlight, FORA creates a blissful time that is purely personal and exclusive. Great degrees of freedom and independence is afforded in a life where electrical plugs are unnecessary. Love yourself and love mother earth as well.
"FORA" is an assonance taken from FLORA, the Goddess of Flower in ancient Rome. It hopes that the earth has a long life and is ever present, just like plants. FORA also represents the four core design concepts of Future, Original, Recreational and Alternative. Through adhering to a concept of sustainable future and original design, we are dedicated to proposing creative lifestyle solutions with recreational and alternative energy character traits. We are the first to lead consumers to enjoy a beautiful future of sustainable life.
Design Team
The design team behind FORA is ADD (Advanced Design Division), which is an R&D unit under the Tsann Kuen Group. Since the establishment of ADD, it has been diligently researching into consumer lifestyle. It has locked onto the development of forward looking merchandise that will fulfill the market 3 to 5 years from now. It has also proposed “Eco-Intelligent Life,” a development direction for opening the market, as well as injecting the LOHAS thinking, which focuses product lines to the four major values of health, professionalism, intellect and recreation, into the home electronics industry. The team members are currently composed of industrial designer, electronic and mechanical engineer, material and lifestyle researchers. The recent energy shortage and environmental pollution that is getting increasingly more severe has grabbed the unwavering attention of the world. Thus, ADD has also listed energy usage as a main direction for development. By fitting in with the demands of everyday life and creatively applied design, the brand FORA was introduced.

FORA Eternal sunshine brings limitless life
- Clean energy—by smartly utilizing the sustainable and unpolluted solar energy, a green life with 3800g carbon reduction per year is created.
- Life without electrical plugs—charged through solar energy or household electricity. Escape from the laden weight of electrical wires and enjoy a mobile life free of electrical plugs.
The original concept behind FORA was obtained from the plant’s photosynthesis, the process where it obtains energy from light. By adapting an assembly type design, with a built in lithium battery as the core for power storage, users can first plug the collector plate onto the electricity storage base. Then place it in a location with sufficient sunlight to proceed with the charging process, by retrieving the cleanest and most unpolluted solar energy. After it has been fully charged, install it onto corresponding end terminal products and one can easily initiate one’s life. Whether used to listen to music or to read the latest publication, it is as easy as operating conventional home electronics.
FORA catch Upright Collector Plate
Using potted plant as design imagery, it can be suitably placed on windowsills, balconies or any surface area with great exposure to sunlight. It can convert solar energy into electricity and store it inside the depot energy storage base.
- Employs high efficiency solar panel. Calculated based on a 1000W/m2 solar irradiance, it is able to generate 8.1W of electricity.
- UV resistant coating, suitable for long term sunlight exposure without the colors fading.
- Must be used in conjunction with the depot electricity storage base.

FORA catch shine Wall Hanging Collector Plate
Catch shine stores warm solar energy and can be suctioned onto window glass. Not only can the electrical power it retrieved charge the electricity storage base, it can also light up its built-in LED lamp to provide night light, creating a soft and blissful time.
- Employs high efficiency solar panel. Calculated based on a 1000W/m2 solar irradiance, it is able to generate 6.9W of electricity.
- Built in high efficiency lithium battery. It can be fully charged within 4.5 hours (calculated based on 1000W/m2 of solar irradiance outdoors with the product placed indoors).
- Built in energy saving LED lamp which can also act as a mood creating night light.
- UV resistant coating, suitable for long term sunlight exposure without the colors fading.
- Can be used independently or in conjunction with the depot electricity storage base.

FORA depot Electricity Storage Base
This is an electricity storage base with dual usage that can be used to charge up the catch or the catch shine by absorbing solar energy. It can also charge through conventional household electricity. The stored electrical power, in addition to being used on exclusive products such as the bravo and shine slim, it can also directly charge up personal consumer electronic products.
- Built in “light sensor.” By observing the frequency and tempo of the flashing LED located in front, one can easily and conveniently locate the most ideal location for solar charging.
- Built in USB port is able to directly charge personal consumer electronics under 5V (such as iPod, MP3 players, and cellular phones).
- Built-in high efficiency lithium battery. It can be fully charged up in 8 hours (calculated based on 1000W/m2 of solar irradiance outdoors with the product placed indoors) or 3 hours if it is charged directly with AC adaptor drawing household electricity.
- UV resistant material that can prevent the colors from fading due to long term exposure to sun light.

FORA bravo Music Player
Plants inspired the design of the bravo music player as it absorbs energy from the depot. It can play back conventional CD and MP3 format optical disks. It can also be connected to MP3 players sold on the market and directly play the music through the speakers on the unit, thus creating a personal music hall.
- When the depot electricity storage base is fully charged, the bravo can play back music for 10 continuous hours.
- Built in 3.5mm audio input jack. It can be connected to any MP3 player and act directly as an external speaker.
- Must be used in conjunction with the depot electricity storage base.

FORA shine slim Desk Lamp
Elegantly shaped and well executed, the shine slim employs high intensity LED and condenser lens design. With a maximum luminosity of 1,000 LUX, it provides you with a comfortable and warm reading environment so that you are able to immerse deeper into the reading atmosphere.
- 5-stage luminosity (500 – 1,000 LUX), that can be adjusted based on the demand of the surrounding environment.
- When the depot electricity storage base is fully charged, shine slim can be used for 3 continuous hours under the brightest luminosity setting.
- Must be used in conjunction with the depot electricity storage base.
